Off to the Lake

We are headed up to the lake this weekend for some family time. I am so excited that the weather is going to be nice. Perhaps we can convince my Dad to put the new jet ski in the water! Erik is going up to North Carolina on Saturday to help move his grandmother to a new nursing home. And Sara is coming home with her new boyfriend to meet the family. As usual, a lot going on but it should be fun!

Sleepy boy

This was before he proceeded to get peanut butter all over his nose and paws. And then he tore the label off the jar into 100 little pieces all over the carpet. We will just use his kong next time instead of giving him the jar. He just couldn't handle it!

Movin' On Up

Owen's teacher at daycare informed me today that he will be moving up to the 5 - 10 month class starting in March. I am kind of sad about it for three reasons. One - because he is growing way too fast. Two - because I really like his teacher and I know she likes him. Three - His infant class is very small with only 3 to 4 other babies in there with him so they get specialized attention. The older class is a little bigger but they also have three teachers. They also have more toys to play with including exersaucers and jumperoos. He is going to love these in a month or two. I know he will continue to learn and have fun at daycare. I am just sad that he is getting to be such a big boy!

Giggles

Owen has started giggling now instead of just squealing. It is such a wonderful little chuckle. Sorry the quality of the video is so bad but I had to hurry to capture the moment.

Hair Dryer

Mornings are pretty hectic at our house. Erik leaves around 6 which is typically when Owen starts to wake up. After I feed him, burp him, change his diaper, get him dressed and let Bert out - it is time for me to get ready. I put O in his bouncy chair and turn on the music while I shower. He giggles and hits the bird and monkey. By the time I am dressed, he gets fussy and tired of the toys so I take it off so he can see me. Bert usually goes crazy around this time, running up and down the hall. But for some reason, when I turn on the hair dryer, they both stop what they are doing and go into a daze of sorts. Bert gets all calm and relaxed and O is very quiet just watching me. It is the craziest thing! I might have to use this trick more often.

4 Months!

Owen went to the doctor on Thursday for his 4 month check-up. He weighs 13 pounds 8 ounces (25%), is 25 inches long (50%) and his head is 42 cm (50%). He got 2 shots and only cried for a few seconds on the 2nd shot. He was so good. The doctor said she picks one baby to take home each day and it is usually a 6 month old because they have so much personality. But she picked Owen because he was all smiles and super chatty! I know all doctor visits will not be like this but it certainly made it easier on me.

Here is another video of our vocal child. He loves his Sophie! It is the best teething toy we have found.

A Conversation with Owen

Translation:
We had such a great weekend. Friday we surprised Josh with a going away get together at his sister's house. He is joining the JAG Corps and left for training on Saturday. It was fun to see him and our friends. Saturday we took Bert for a long walk since it was such a nice day. I took a nap. Sunday we had breakfast with Nana, Papa, Auntie Heather and Cousin Keleigh. I love spending time with my family. Then we went to a Tophat Super Bowl party. I was passed around by the adults and all of the girls. Everyone thought I was cute and I loved the attention. I was a good boy for Mommy and Daddy.

Ready for the weekend

I am so glad it is Friday. It has been a very busy week at work so I have been looking forward to the weekend. We have some fun plans tonight and then Sunday for the Superbowl.

Owen goes to the doctor on Thursday for his 4 month check-up and sadly more shots. I will handle it better this time.

Nap time. I love how Bert thinks our bed is his.
